Boys Ranch Sect Children Returning Home

The biggest custody battle in Texas history enters a new phase today as hundreds of children from a polygamist sect are re-united with their parents.

The overall atmosphere at Boys Ranch is one of relief. Relief from parents and the 72 boys that they will be together after almost two months of separation.

But under the court order handed down today, there are certain conditions those parents must allowing child protective services unannounced visits and letting child welfare workers know if they plan to leave the state.

A CPS Spokesman says, "we don't know how long it will take, they have from ten to five today and we will be out here to get the children back with their families. We're here to make that happen."

But it could take days before the children are cleared out of Boys Ranch because many of them had been separated from their siblings.

And we have just learned an elder from this particular sect says from now on, church policy will be no girl under the age of consent in the state where she lives will be allowed to marry.
