Texas Executions to Resume This Week

The first Texas execution in nine months will take place this Tuesday.

It has been the longest execution break in recent history.

It began when U.S. Supreme Court Justices decided to investigate whether lethal injection was cruel and unusual punishment.

40-year-old Derrick Sonnier will be put to death for the murder of his neighbor and her two year old son on June 3rd.

He will be the fourth person in the nation to be executed since the Supreme Court decided lethal injection is legal.
