Pool Parasite Warning

Swimming at the public pool may cool you down, but it could also make you sick.

That is why the New Mexico Department of Health is warning the community about a chlorine resistant parasite.

It is known as Crypto and is mainly in pools and water parks.

Here are some things you can do to protect yourself.

  • Shower before swimming.
  • Wash your hands after using the toilet or changing diapers.
  • Do not swallow pool water or get water in your mouth.
