New Defense Bill Could Mean Money for Amarillo

Nearly $4 billion could be coming to two companies in Amarillo.

That is if the Senate passes the new Defense Bill that local Representative Mac Thornberry helped write.

Bell Helicopter would get the most for continued support of the Osprey program, updating the Marines' H-1 helicopter, and continued research and development of the presidential helicopter.

The other company, Pantex, would get more than $500 million, 10 of which would go for urgent maintenance needs at the plant.
