Recall RoundUp, May 9th

In this week's Recall RoundUp, a Waverunner, an ATV, a Jeep Commander, and a Baby Bottle and Food Warmer.

Yamaha recalled their 2005 - 2008 XV1100 AND 2003 - 2008 GP1300 Waverunners. Corrosion on the throttle cable can take away your ability to idle, causing the Waverunner to always remain in drive. You can visit your Yamaha Watercraft dealer for a repair.

American Honda Motor Company recalled their Model Year 2008 Honda TRX500 ATVs.  The electric power steering shaft of the recalled ATVs could break unexpectedly, resulting in the rider's losing steering control. This poses a risk of injury or death to riders. They were sold by Honda ATV dealers nationwide from October 2007 through March 2008 for between $6,850 and $7,400. They were made in the United States. You should stop using these recalled ATVs immediately and contact any Honda ATV dealer to make an appointment for a free repair.

Chrysler issued a recall on their Jeep Commander Model Year 2006. On the MY 2006 Jeep Commander Vehicles equipped with 4.7L V8 engines the powertrain control module was programmed with software that may allow the engine to stall under certain operation conditions. This could cause you to crash. You can take the Jeep to a dealership to have the problem fixed.

Munchkin Inc. recalled their Deluxe Bottle and Food Warmers. They can overheat, posing a fire hazard. The recall involves the Munchkin Deluxe Bottle and Food Warmer with Pacifier Cleaning Basket 2-in-1 Design, model #13301 and lot number TP-1487. The product is used to warm food and bottles of various sizes. The set includes a main basket, a lift-out basket, an adapter ring, and a measuring cup. "Munchkin" is located on the front of the warmer and "TP-1487" is located on the bottom. Only warmers bearing lot number "TP-1487" are included in this recall. They were made in China, and sold at various retailers nationwide and company's catalog from June 2007 through April 2008 for about $20.  You should stop using bottle and food warmers with lot number TP-1487 immediately and contact Munchkin to receive a free replacement.  You can call them toll-free at (866) 619-8673 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, or visit the firm's Web site at www.munchkin.com.
