Flat Screen Thefts Rise

Amarillo police say a new trend is emerging, after flat screen TV's are stolen two days in a row.  Police say suspects stole three televisions from the Aaron's Rent to Own at I-40 and Julian.

They say suspects broke through a window causing hundreds of dollars in damage. Taking  taking two TV's, one 40 inch Sony and 42 inch RCA on Wednesday. On Thursday, a 46 in RCA was stolen. 

Sales Manager Ava Dominguez is anxious to see police catch the suspects. Dominguez said,  "It ain't the first time and not the last. But I hope the do catch the guy. That's three TV's... That's a lot of money."

Amarillo police say serial numbers make it easier to recover stolen items.  They are encourage everyone to put serial numbers on their valuables.  

Police are asking anyone who has information on the burglaries to call Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
