American Airlines canceled 11 flights in and out of Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport today.
Many of the stranded passengers couldn't find alternate ways home because all available rental cars were taken.
Southwest Airlines continued flying into Dallas's Love Field but due to spring break there were limited seats for the stranded.
"I might try and get here early in the morning and stand by but don't tell anyone," said Suzi Shepard, a stranded American Airlines passenger.
Airport officials told said they worked overtime to keep everyone in good spirits.
"American Airlines has been wonderful with accommodating passengers," said Scott Carr Airport Manager. "They've also been able to provide them with pizza and other types of food in light of the situation."
