Messer Appointed as District Judge

Area District Attorney Stuart Messer has been appointed to take over the office of former District Judge David McCoy.

Today, Texas Governor Rick Perry appointed Messer as judge of the 100th Judicial District, which serves Carson, Childress, Collingsworth, Donley, and Hall counties.

Former judge David McCoy resigned from the bench this past February amid controversy.

A Childress grand jury indicted McCoy last November for Theft by a Public Servant and Abuse of Official Capacity.
