Cooking up a way to feed the less fortunate people of the Panhandle. That's what the City of Refuge church was doing today... With their chili cook off contest and silent auction.
Organizers say this fund raiser is crucial to helping them - help others. And they stressed this year has been harder for the organization.
Pastor, Casey Dumas says, "Feels like we have been in a crunch. Every food that we get now, a good portion of it we have to buy. The food bank they give us a good deal on it but still you have to buy it and 73,000 meals in 73,000 meals and we have top buy a great deal of it. So every single bit of this goes towards food and utilities so it is going to get us by"
