Parents Go Back To School To Learn English

Parents of Travis Middle School students are going to school to learn english.

The school principal says parents are excited about the program. In fact, 49 have already signed up this morning to participate. Parents of the middle schools students will learn how to speak english in eight weeks. Which will be a benefit to the community of Amarillo.

"I think we give something back to our parents that will give them skills that will help them obtain jobs in the community. Perhaps better paying jobs and it also allows them to feel more confident living in Amarillo." said school principal Jay Barrett.

There is a second eight week course for an advanced level english course. The community link is funded by a partnership between Amarillo college and AT&T.
