Voters OK Sunday liquor sales in Clovis

CLOVIS, N.M. (AP)  Voters in Clovis have approved a proposal allowing Sunday liquor sales by the glass in the city's bars and restaurants.

More than 55 percent of the more than 5,000 votes cast in yesterday's municipal election were in favor of the sales. City Attorney Dave Richards says it'll take at least a month before restaurants and bars will be able to serve liquor.

Businesses that want to serve liquor on Sundays must apply for a
special state license.
