A weekend of fun can come with a hefty price tag, if you fail to follow the rules. That's what a U.S. Park Ranger says about this year's Mud Bog Races, happening just north of Amarillo.
NewsChannel 10 went to the races to find out how law enforcement is dealing with the increase of people at the river.
Park rangers say law enforcement officers from all over potter county are patrolling the Canadian River this weekend to enforce safety laws.
Since it went into effect more than a month ago a Potter County burn ban violation can cost you up to $200.
U.S Ranger Scott Hall says making sure the burn ban is observed with so many people at the river this weekend is extremely important especially this time of year.
"We just want to remind people that the fire danger in the area is real and you gotta be real careful."
And there are other ways you could end up with ticket this weekend.
