Cutting Horse Championship in Amarillo

A winner is named.. The National Cutting Horse Association final competition took place tonight in Amarillo.

Top NCHA money-earners have been in the city for the past week working toward a chance to compete for the title of world champion.

Rebecca Brian with the event says, "We're based out of Fort Worth, Texas. We have a little over seventeen thousand five hundred members in all states and twenty two foreign countries... So we're an international organization. People compete all year long to get to this event... Its kinda our superbowl per say. All of two thousand seven these people have been traveling all over the country to qualify for this event."

Yearly more than 2,200 NCHA events are hosted throughout the country awarding more than 42 million dollars in prize money.
