Amarillo Spending More on Bioterrorism Planning

Increases in public health and safety funds will help the city of Amarillo to be more prepared for a bioterrorism disaster or emergency.

The City Commission increased funding by 159,439 dollars today. It allows public health officials to plan for events like pandemic influenza, small pox, anthrax, and sars by creating a disaster plan for health care facilities and training health care professionals in disater life support.
