Tascosa Lockdown Update

An Amarillo man is facing an unlawful weapons charge after reportedly causing an area school to be put on lockdown. 

Tascosa High School was lockdown two weeks ago when campus police were alerted that a possible intruder was on campus. They later found the suspect who had a weapon described as a large knife with a blade over 11 inches long, but he was not a student and he was not on campus. 

The Potter County Attorney's office has offered the suspect a pre-trial diversion which means he can avoid jail time if he stays out of trouble for six months. The suspect's name was not released...he is expected to respond by February 21st.

    An early morning structure fire is under investigation. Officials say around 4:20 this morning, a fire sparked in a building in the area of 8th and Adams.
