MIAMI (AP) - John McCain says his win in Florida's primary shows that he's the conservative leader who can unite the Republican party.
But in a brief interview with The Associated Press he's not calling himself the GOP front-runner yet. He says the victory is a "very significant boost," but there are a lot of states still to come.
In the campaign's final days, he picked up major endorsements from the top two elected Republicans in the state -- Senator Mel Martinez and Governor Charlie Crist. McCain says having those people behind him was very helpful.
He heads into Super Tuesday next week with momentum after winning two straight nominating contests.
