Funds Released to Fight NM Bovine TB

A financial injection is intended to help cure bovine tuberculosis in our area.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has released $570,000 dollars to New Mexico to help prevent and eradicate the disease.

That's according to senator Jeff Bingaman's office. The money is part of a more than $2 million dollar package to help fight New Mexico's bovine tuberculosis.

Last summer some dairy cattle in Curry county tested positive for tuberculosis.
