A popular stop for travelers celebrates an anniversary Wednesday.
The Texas Travel Information Center has been in Amarillo for five years now.
The center tells us on an average summer day they see around 300 travelers. In the winter they see an average of 100.
They give free travel information and maps to their customers.
But that's not all they do.
"If there's an evacuation, we're the ones they call to get the road conditions to get out safely. We're a diverse organization, and we would love for anyone to come see us."
The center served as relief for people involved the I-40 pile-up a couple of weeks ago.
