Stargazers at Oasis State Park will soon be able to see the night sky more clearly.
The State will install new lighting in the park near Portales that will drastically cut light pollution.
Park Administrators say they will retrofit all buildings.
They will also replace the park's 19 street lamps with ground lighting.
The new, smaller bulbs cast light downward.
Local astronomers call the changes an asset to the park, which typically hosts between 20 and 50 people for each star party.
