Credit Card Delinquencies Increasing

Americans are falling way behind in paying off their credit cards.

More delinquencies and more defaults. That is what some of America's major credit card companies say they are seeing lately.

Accounts 30 days late are up 26 percent from October. Accounts at least 90 days late in payments are up 50 percent from this time last year.

But for those who don't want to use a credit card, local retailers say an option is to open a line of credit in individual stores.

Many retailers offer no interest and no payments for months, even a customers seemingly plenty of time to save up and pay off those big purchases.
