Report Paints Bleak Picture of FDA

The agency charged with keeping consumers safe has been accused of actually putting lives at risk, according to a new report.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration science board released the report which says the agency is vastly under-funded, not adequately staffed, and out-of-date with the latest technology and science.

The FDA regulates products from medications to food to cosmetics. However the report cautions without a significant increase in resources, the agency's expanding responsibilities will never be met.
