Xcel Energy Gives Back

The Xcel Energy Foundation will award more than $180,000 in grants to to non-profits that promote arts and culture, and environmental stewardship.

The grants will go throughout our area in Texas and New Mexico.

"The environmental goals goes well with the company goals to become leaders in environmental stewardship. That helps us find groups that feel the way we do about the environment," said Wes Reeves, spokesperson for Xcel.

The biggest recipient is McDonald Lake on 45th and Western St. They will receive $20,000 to plant trees throughout the area.
