Home Relief Could Be Boom or Bust

New walls going up in one area town could help people there pull through a housing shortage.   Or it could be a bust for developers if people don't move in.

One Dumas builder says he's taking a chance investing in a 48-unit complex. "Obviously, it's a risk. You know.. jump out there and they're fifty percent occupied.. then it's a bad deal," says Damon Admire.

Admire notes there's a reason big corporations are not putting up homes in Dumas.  Overbuilding is easy he says. And that would tip the scales against developers. "That's gonna drive the whole rental market down because then you've got too many on the market."
