Triumph Hospital New Location and Renovations

A local hospital has moved to a new location and will be expanding to better serve the Panhandle Region.

Triumph Hospital of Amarillo has recently moved to its new location on Wallace and Research Blvd. and representatives of the hospital anticipate its upcoming renovations will better serve patients needing intensive care and a longer hospital stay.

"We will have a full procedure suite, with a CT scanner and all those types of diagnostic radiology interventions that we could use for our patients instead of having to send them out," said Joy Dier of Triumph Hospital in Amarillo.

Triumph is a long term acute care hospital which sets it apart from general hospitals because the average stay is at least 25 days compared with 5 to 7 days elsewhere.

"Who can longer stay in the acute care hospital but are not able to go home cannot go to a skilled nursing facility, they don' provide those types of services. This is the next step in the continuum of care from a med-search hospital."

Initially the hospital will accommodate 35 patients, but when completed, 64 private rooms will be operating to include a state of the art seven bed intensive care unit.
