Car Break-ins Make Local Family Want to Move

"We don't have a choice I mean this is the only place we have to live, there isn't any other family members that live here," says Ashley Montee. "We don't have a choice I mean this is the only place we have to live, there isn't any other family members that live here," says Ashley Montee.

A rash of car thefts at a local apartment complex is enough to make one family look for a new home.

Amarillo police confirm they responded to three car break-in reports at River Falls Apartments Wednesday morning.

One woman tells us it's the fourth break-in of her family's car in three years in the same parking lot, and enough to make her move out.

"We don't have a choice I mean this is the only place we have to live, there isn't any other family members that live here," says Ashley Montee.

"So we've parked out in the big parking lot, now we park up close and it hasn't helped anything." Montee says it will cost her 2500 dollars to replace a sound system and broken back window.

She says when her lease is up she hopes to move into a house with a garage to store her car.
