Panhandle Home Destroyed in Fire

A home and an undetermined amount of acres were burned in Carson County Tuesday afternoon after the home catches fire.

Fire crews from Potter County, PANTEX, Claude VFD, Groom, and Panhandle VFD responded to the home near the intersection of highway 207 County Road 5 around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.

Fire officials say up to 5 propane fueled space heaters were running at the same time when the fire occurred. They say the home is a complete loss.

The occupants of the house were home at the time, but were able to get out safely.
