Blake Bagwell is the biggest WT fan around. He is also a member of the coaching staff.
In middle school and high school, Blake was a part of his respective football team. So, when he moved on to WT it was a natural fit. Former head coach Ronnie Jones added Blake to the coaching staff.
When Coach Jones left, current Head Coach Don Carthel moved in and retained Blake to the staff. In fact, Coach Blake is the only remaining coach from that staff.
"He inspires us. He loves the game of football. He'll run around and throw and catch with the guys. He gets excited and he gets us excited," said Carthel.
Blake is with the team always cheering them on, and adds life even when the team is not playing well.
"He brings that team spirit. Every day he's at practice, he scores more touchdowns than me every day. He's just the light of the football team. If it's a bad day, he'll come up and brighten your day," said Sedrick Knowlton, wide receiver for the Buffs, and one of Blake's good friends.
"When you say Blake, that's the heart and soul of the Buffaloes. He lives and breathes it just like we do, probably more than some of us do. It's an opportunity for him that I think he enjoys. You can always come out and expect a smiling face when Blake's around," added All-American receiver Charly Martin.
Blake will walk across the stage and graduate in May.
