Area educators can now expect some state help for handling MRSA concerns. NewsChannel 10 has been tracking the area's response to a Borger Middle School student's staph infection death last Friday.
Texas state health officials now plan to meet with Borger ISD educators in two weeks about MRSA prevention. They're also launching a media campaign across the panhandle. "We are now in the process of developing a plan to take information out to all the school districts to provide the education that they need to know on this," says Dr. Peter Pendergrass with the Department of State Health Services.
Doctor Pendergrass notes the state health department is preparing posters and other materials to send to area schools to explain how to prevent staph infections.
