Gonorrhea Cases in New Mexico

More strains of gonorrhea are popping up in New Mexico.

But the strain of the sexually transmitted disease is resistant to the main antibiotic used to treat it.

Tests are showing more cases resisting the drug Ciprofloxacin or Cipro.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends a different drug to treat those cases.

New Mexico health officials say doctors need to know the Cipro-resistant strain is there indefinitely.
