She can't imagine anything better than being associated with the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center.
That is what First Lady Laura Bush said this morning at the dedication of the new Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health.
The White House personally invited NewsChannel 10 to be the only local media outlet to travel with Mrs. Bush as she made her way through Amarillo.
She arrived in Amarillo at around eleven this morning.
She started her visit at the building bearing her name. There she sat down with faculty members from the Texas Tech Health Sciences center to talk about strategic initiatives for the institute.
From there she attended a luncheon where she said she is proud to be a part the institute's mission.
The First Lady has been a long-time champion of women's health.
And she says Texas Tech is a great resource for West Texas women.
Mrs. Bush also says the institute encourages the next generation of doctors by providing the knowledge and resources to help women in the area.
After her luncheon, the First Lady boarded a plane to Odessa.
