A community college in tucumcari is taking the first step to establish a wind energy research and training center.
mesalands community college says they will install a wind tubine.
It is expected to offset nearly all of the school's electricity requirements.
And officials say it will provide a training center for the next generation of renewable energy technicians.
Representative from general electric and the college signed a contract yesterday for the one-point-five megawatt wind turbine to be installed.
