The State of Texas leads the nation when it comes to teenagers giving birth for the second time.
And that is because almost one fourth of pregnant teenagers in this state already have at least one child.
Although Potter County has one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates in the nation, organizations around here say they do not see a lot of repeat pregnancies.
They say that is partly because the proactive approach they take to educating and encouraging teenage parents.
They say getting teenagers involved in extracurricular activities, as well as helping them stay in school makes a difference.
But some struggling teenagers do get pregnant again, and one of the reasons it happens is because teens do not think ahead, and lose sight of their goals.
Pregnancy centers around the area also say parents' communication with their kids plays the biggest role in their behavior as they grow up.
