UPDATED: Range Fire Contained in Eastern New Mexico

After battling hot-spots Thursday morning, fire crews in eastern New Mexico have contained a range fire that burned an estimated 30,000 acres.

Fire crews were called back out to the range fire Thursday morning after high winds caused several flare-ups. The hot-spots burned right along the Texas/New Mexico border between Clovis and Portales.

Fire officials say a lit cigarette could be the cause of the blaze that began Wednesday afternoon. No structures were damaged in the fire.
