Hutchison confirms this is her last term

WASHINGTON (AP) - Texas Republican Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison confirmed this is her last full term in the Senate.

She is in her third 6-year term, which ends in 2012.

She is considered a candidate for governor. But she says she hasn't decided whether she will run for the job in 2010.

She was discussing her future briefly with reporters outside the U.S. Senate after making similar comments to Texas Monthly. Her comments from an interview that will appear in the December issue, were published on Monday on the magazine's Web site.

In the interview, Hutchison says she must consider whether to leave as early as 2009. But Tuesday she told reporters she does not expect to resign by 2009.
