Update: Mauling Victim Needs Your Help

One Amarillo family is trying to get back to normal after a brutal pit bull mauling Monday night sent their daughter to the hospital.

7 year old Britney Tennsion came home today from the hospital and tells us how she's doing after this tragic ordeal. She was attacked by a neighbor's pit bull Monday evening. She says She's doing okay.

"I feel a little bit better, and I'm glad to be home." Britney said

She has undergone surgey and has received more than a hundred stitches in her right leg. She may even have permanent damage.

Her mother Karla says Britney has several follow up doctors appointments, she says "time will tell, I don't even know the extent of the damages."

She's also says it may be about a week before she goes back to school, but she is receiving a lot of support.

"The school told me that they will wheel her in a wheel chair back and forth to the cafeteria, classrooms and things like that." said Karla

The family says they are trying to get things back to normal, but the financial hardship this tragedy has called is excessive and they aren't sure where to turn.

"She has some really high hospital bills" said Karla, saying they are just taking one day at a time. 

The Tennison family is having financial hardship after the vicious attack. If you would like to donate, you can go into any Bank of America and ask put money in the "Britney Tennison Contribution" account.
