Pro-life and sexual education organizations are clashing right now in Amarillo.

130 cities in 39 states are hosting rallies just like this one right now across the country. While some claim they are just here to voice their opinions about abortion... Others have a very distinct purpose... Shutting down Planned Parenthood.

John Denton says, "40 days for life, is forty days of prayer and fasting, hopefully 24/7. In front of Planned Parenthood to put them out of business."

While dozens have showed up to support the cause... Not all feel as strongly about planned parenthood. In fact, organizers say the program isn't about the center, its about life.

Vickey Martinez with the organization says, "4,000 babies are lost everyday. We are just praying to save lives."

The group says they will spend the next 40 days with prayer and fasting, in hopes of leading women away from the clinic and abortion.

Claudia Stravato with Planned Parenthood says she is not worried about a protest... But more about the feeling of her patients.

"Tonight, i don't think they will be a problem. During the week when we have patients coming in, and they harass them, that's a problem. When they are preventing women who simply need to get their health care or bring their children in to get their health care, and harass them when they come in the clinic, I'm more worried about that in the coming 40 days."

Protestors assured us the rally will remain peaceful even though a well known figure is coming.

Stravato also says Father Frank Pavone,  the leader of priest for life, is one of the reasons why planned parenthood has locked their gates for the first time ever. Planned Parenthood has hired an Amarillo police officer to watch the facility all night.

Planned Parenthood tells us they do not offer or practice abortion and in fact is the leading center for alternative options for pregnant women.
