Springsteen Gives Fans Preview of Tour

ASBURY PARK, N.J. - The Boss will be back in familiar territory this week.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are again giving fans a preview of their upcoming tour with benefit rehearsal shows Monday and Tuesday nights at Convention Hall on the city's boardwalk.

The $100 tickets quickly sold out last week.

The rehearsals come as Springsteen and the band are to begin a tour in support of their new disc, "Magic," which is due out Oct. 2. The tour opens with a show in Hartford, Conn., that night.

Springsteen has used Convention Hall for other pre-tour rehearsals. The oceanside venue is not far from clubs - many now closed - where he rose to fame in the 1970s.

A native of nearby Freehold, Springsteen still lives in Monmouth County.

"Magic" is Springsteen's first album with his longtime New Jersey mates since the Sept. 11-inspired "The Rising" in 2002.
