Bicyclists Rides Cross Country for Fallen Firefighters

A bicyclist riding cross country to honor fallen firefighters made a stop in Amarillo Saturday.  Scott Russeau started off his campaign in Palm Springs, California on September 11th.

He's making stops in several cities to raise awareness about the risks firefighters take to protect us. He specifically wanted to honor the nine firefighters who were killed in a warehouse fire in Charleston, South Carolina this year.

"It's amazing, everywhere we've stopped we've had an incredible reception. The brotherhood of the firefighters have treated us incredibly well," said Scott Russeau.

Russeau said he had been averaging 100 to 120 miles a day. His next stop is Elk City, Oklahoma.  He hopes to get to Charleston by October 13th.
