Keep Your Child Safe At The Fair

Every year 40 to 50 children get lost at the Tri-State Fair.

So here are some tips to keep your kids safe. Make sure your child is in front of you at all times, not behind you.  Also, keep kids in groups.  If you do separate make sure they are left with a much older child.

Sheriff Mike Shumate says, "Write down the kids name, a phone number, and who to contact on a piece of paper and put it in the kids pocket. That way when we find the kid we know who to call who to get a hold of. Same thing for mom and dad write down what your child is wearing when you come to the fair."

Shumate says finding a lost child at the fair can be like finding a needle in a haystack, so it makes it much easier to find your child if you can describe what they have on.
