BSA Out of the Dark

Baptist Saint Anthony's hospital is up and running after a power outage left them in the dark for more than an hour.

It was around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday when the hospital went black.  The hospital immediately switched to emergency generators in very limited areas for critical patients.

The computers, elevators, radios and even the emergency communication system were down. Hospital leaders had to use the back-up fire system to alert the staff of the emergency and people had to find their way out of the hospital in the dark.

A code black was called at the time which means the power was limited and new patients and visitors were not admitted.  It was just before lunch that the hospital became fully operational again.
