Nuclear Energy Conference at WT

Looking into the possibilities of nuclear energy, that's was the issue on the table today at West Texas A&M University.

The chairman of the nuclear regulatory commission spoke about the future of nuclear energy and what it means for the country. There are four operating reactors in Texas.

The NRC is planning to set up seven more in the near future although there are no definite plans to place one in the panhandle at this time.

Currently nuclear energy provides 10 percent of the state's energy needs, and 20 percent of the country's.
