Alcohol Safety Stickers

Some Amarillo teens are now involved in a first of a kind project in Texas to stop binge drinking and stop adults from buying alcohol for minors.

The next time you buy a beer you may notice a sticker on it.   About thirty Amarillo students were out Thursday putting them on alcoholic beverages at every Toot-n-Totum in the city.  They hope when people see the stickers they'll be less likely to buy alcohol for minors.

Officials involved say 35% of teens in Amarillo have been binge drinking at least once in the past month.  Kids surveyed report that it is much easier to get alcohol than tobacco in Amarillo.

It is illegal to buy alcohol for minors.  If caught you could face a $4,000 fine, jail time and loss of your driver's license.
