Over 9 Million Mattel Toys Recalled

Mattel has now recalled over nine million play sets that either have magnets that may become loose or contain high levels of lead paint. This is Mattel's second recall within two weeks of toys being imported from China.

"Sarge" Die Cast Toy Cars are being recalled due to an excess of lead. Lead can be toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

Certain Polly Pocket Play Sets, Doggie Day Cares, Barbie and Tanner, and some Batman play figures have all been recalled to due powerful magnets inside which can come loose.

If swallowed the magnets can cause intestinal blockage which can be fatal. Mattel officials say they are now testing every batch of toys and are designing new standards.

If you have any of the recalled items you can call Mattel at (888)597-6597 or (800)916-4997.
