ANB Phishing Scam Continues

A phony e-mail claiming to be from Amarillo National Bank continues to pop up in Amarillo inboxes.

Wednesday morning, two people in the NewsChannel 10 building received the e-mail.

Amarillo National Bank says the link in the e-mail directs you to a fake website similar to their site and asks for personal banking information. Amarillo National Bank says on their website that new security measures are in place to prevent their site to be copied.

The Amarillo Better Business Bureau says a bank will never ask you for your account information, because they already have it in their records. In July, several calls were taken at Amarillo National Bank and the Better Business Bureau regarding the bogus e-mail.

Since then, no incidents have been reported, but the BBB says you should always be on alert for scams such as this.

If you receive this e-mail, you can report it to Amarillo National Bank's internet banking division at 378-8213.
