City Transit will propose the cut and reorganizing of city bus routes in Amarillo.

The proposal would take the number of routes in Amarillo from 12 to 10. City Transit lost 208 thousand dollars in their budget this year alone.

And they have lost around 336 thousand in the past four years. City Transit General Manager Judy Phelps says they encourage the public to voice their opinion.

"Now we'll go through a public participation process where people can come and give their comments. Write them in, fax them, mail them, they can call us. We're pretty flexible on how we can get that information from the people. But we'll certainly make that available," said Phelps.

The meetings are open to anyone. Bus fare will not change, and no employees are expected to lose their jobs.
