As the ethanol industry continues to grow, the controversy surrounding it also grows. The tension involves the rising price of corn which farmers and ranchers use to feed cattle.

NewsChannel 10 spoke with Jerry Artho, a local farmer and rancher who says the biggest change he's made is working with cattle nutritionists. They've helped him plan ways to make sure the cattle get proper amounts of protein and carbohydrates with out using as much corn.

He also says as a farmer and rancher he's used to making changes and adjustments because they deal with a constantly changing market and weather.  Artho says you just have to deal with those things the best you can and try to keep a sharp enough pencil to make everything work.

Some people have now formed a website which is sponsored by cattle, beef, dairy and other producers. It focuses on the side affects the booming ethanol industry has on feed and food costs.
