New Bio-diesel Plant in Clarendon

A new bio-diesel plant is going up in Clarendon because it's a convenience spot for business.

The general manager of the soon to be built Excel Bio-fuels Industrial Park says building here puts them close to farmers, who will supply the oil seeds needed for production.

Plus they will be able to sell the fuel back to farmers harvesting a crop.

But it's also going to boost the local economy. Once it gets online and things begin to roll it will create jobs and places for people to live and move here.

More than a dozen operators and administrators will be hired from the local community to work at the plant.

The facility will manufacture diesel fuel from ethanol, producing 15 million gallons of it every year.
