18-Wheeler Caught Fire on Highway 287

Both lanes on highway 287 in Washburn have now been re-opened but this was the scene earlier

Northbound lanes on 287 were re-routed to clean up this mess for more than two hours.

NewsChannel 10 was told the 18-wheeler caught on fire when two tires blew out.

A vehicle on the double decker trailer also had propane inside fueling the fire.

Crews with the Pantex Fire Department, Department of Public Safety and Armstrong County Sheriff's Office were on scene and had the fire put out in less than half an hour.

The new vehicles on the car hauler are a total loss with major fire damage to them.

At this time, no injuries have been reported.
