Strong Curry Co. Wheat Crop

Good weather and above average market prices have made it a great wheat season for farmers in Curry County.

A crop physiologist at New Mexico State University says most farmers have harvested 75% of their crop.

They report between 25 and 50 bushels an acre, better than the normal yield of 20 bushels an acre.

Last year, some farmers only got six bushels an acre, but they knew they had a more promising year in store when all the rain fell last spring.
