One area city is bracing for an big economic boost! Canyon is hoping to rake in a lot of green when we celebrate the red white and blue.

Canyon is preparing for a rush of visitors, and some places like hotels are already bustling with business.

Canyon is calm, for now, but in just a few days, Canyon swells.

From Oklahoma City, to Dallas, even as far away as San Antonio, people are all coming here to Canyon to celebrate the 4th.

"Our town doubled in size on July 4th so you do the math that's over 25,000 people," says Lorrie Jones, with the Canyon Chamber of Commerce.

It brings in a lot of business, and some of the hotels are already feelin it.

"We had a call today and had to tell them we didnt have any rooms available," says Cheyenne Moreland at the Holiday Inn.

Other businesses are also expecting to fill up fast.

"This summer has been our busiest summer," says Connie Okill, who owns Hudspeth House. This bed and breakfast caters to callers non-stop!

So, what's the draw?

"Our parade is always a huge hit," says one local resident.

"There will be everything you can imagine you want to buy," says Jones.

Area businesses are banking on a boost this Independence Day...

"Anytime you get thousands of people into town everybody benefits," says Jones.

That's music to their ears.
